We started visiting Dubai 17 years ago and we have seen many changes. We prefer to visit Abu Dhabi now because it is a bit slower and quieter . Dubai is faster and more full on. We tend to do the beach holiday in abu Dhabi then hit Dubai for a couple of days and nights, There is So much to see and do in Dubai and it is a fantastic place to visit. Great for all ages young and old, shopping 5*, food 5*, heat a bit too hot from May to October.

I was attending an exhibition at the DWTC on short notice, not mixing work and sight-seeing on this occasion. To be honest, I am not a fan of beach and heat (more than 30C) - I don't tan. Dubai is an energetic, vibrant and economic hub in the region.

We had planned a 4nt/5day stay in Dubai but fortunately our flight was cancelled giving us one less day which we realised was a blessing. This was our 3rd stay in Dubai but our 1st since Covid, and sadly, our most disappointing. Broken paths, dirty streets and sadly even homeless people, made this stay a real shock for us. Except for inside malls and tourist attractions, Dubai seems to be slipping A LOT in standards. The roads are very congested now and public transport is crowded and most of the people ignore rules and regulations. Couldn’t walk around without being approached by street sellers constantly pulling us to buy something. Got pushed and knocked by people on the underground, some were even sitting in the floor?? A lot of Indian migrants tried to tell us bad things for Dubai, and said we should go to India instead for holidays as Dubai was ‘broke’ and we were told countless times that “Dubai needed money”?? These residents actually upset our stay, and seeing the state of Al Barsha area was a shock. If you are only going for shopping in the malls then great, otherwise you may be disappointed. Being approached all the time by street sellers made us feel nervous and not safe as we did on our past stays.

The metro is a close walking distance, many grocery stores are around the area including a few pharmacy. Wafi mall is the closest with just one metro stop which has Carrefour, other malls are the Dubai festival city mall.The hotel has everything you need besides spa, airport shuttle and sauna area. I do recommend going higher up since construction is all around the hotel and it's a bit loud.

Rooftop pool is amazing if you do not want to go out to the beach. We travel to Dubai for business frequently and we definately will go back here every time.
